About the Apprentice Tec Course
The Apprentice Tec course is a sub-course of the Tec Deep Diver course and takes 5 days of diving and is the equivalent of the Decompression Theory and Advanced Nitrox courses offered by other training agencies. The 'Apprentice tec' course allows the diver to:
- make gas switch extended no-stop dives to 130ft/40 meters using air and enriched air (up to 60% oxygen) with technical diving equipment and procedures
- be trained in the motor skills needed for technical diving
- understand and acknowledge the hazards and risks involved in technical diving
- prepare for and respond to reasonably foreseeable emergencies that may occur in this type of diving
- provide the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for completing the entire Tec Deep Diver course
Prerequisites:
- Certified as PADI Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Certified as PADI Enriched Air diver or equivalent
- Certified as PADI Deep diver or equivalent
- Have a minimum of 50 logged dives of which at least 10 were made with Nitrox, 12 dives deeper than 60ft/12 meters and at least 6 deeper than 100ft/30 meters
Equipment is included with the courses other than the DSAT Tec Deep manual, primary dive computer, slates and pencils.
About the Tec Deep Diver Course
The Tec Deep Diver course takes 10 days of diving (or 5 days if the Tec Apprentice portion is already completed) and allows the diver to:
- make gas switch, extended no stop dives, decompression dives and accelerated decompression dives using air, enriched air and 100% oxygen, up to 165ft/50 meters
- be trained in the motor skills required for technical diving
- understand the hazards and risks with this type of technical diving
- prepare for and respond reasonably to foreseeable emergencies that may occur in this type of technical diving
- To provide the foundational skills for further training in technical diving such as Trimix
Prior reading of the complete course manual is necessary before the 1st training dive begins. (Manuals should be studied about 10-14 days before the course begins).
Prerequisites:
- Certified as PADI Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent
- Certified as PADI Rescue diver or equivalent
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Certified as a PADI Deep diver or equivalent
- Certified as a PADI Enriched Air diver or equivalent
- Have a minimum of 100 logged dives of which at least 20 were made with enriched air, 25 deeper than 60ft/18 meters and at least 15 deeper than 100ft/30 meters
Equipment is included with the courses other than the DSAT Tec Deep manual, primary dive computer, slates and pencils.
DSAT Tec Introduction Dives
Tec Intro dives are an opportunity for anyone holding Advanced Open Water certification or above to learn the basics behind the operation of a technical diving “Rig” and complete dive number one from the DSAT Tec Deep course. This can include all of the skills from dive one and may be credited toward a course taken in the future.
DSAT Gas Blender Nitrox /Trimix
Typically the Nitrox blender takes one and a half days. It consists of O2 cleaning equipment & 5 Nitrox blends both using the Nitrox stick & partial pressure methods. Trimix is an extra half a day & includes 1 Trimix blend.
Guided Technical Dives
Technical dives using our experienced guides are also available along with the option to rent the latest gear from Dive Rite. We have Trimix on site as well as booster pumps allowing us to mix any custom blend required. Price includes tanks, harness, regs, wings, 2x stages with EANx 40/80.
Rebreathers
Rebreathers can be accommodated in terms of gases & O2 fills. Course prices and equipment rental.
