The PADI Instructor Development Course - IDC

   The choice to become a PADI Instructor is one of the best career choices you can make. You can enjoy a high standard of living in many tropical environments, with a great lifestyle, all while meeting people and having fun.  

  The IDC is comprised of two modules: the Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). Completion of the AI allows you to go on to the OWSI. Completion of the OWSI allows you to challenge the Instructor Examination (IE) and become a PADI Instructor.

THE IDC at BICD

    The BICD Instructor Development Course is a candidate centered 11 day program. Our IDC is longer because as the Instructor Examination has evolved to include assignments from more PADI programs (Adventures in Diving, Rescue Diver and Specialties) so has our IDC. We have designed it to be stress free, so you can learn more comfortably and be better prepared for the IE and more importantly, the path ahead of you.

    Our program involves more time actually working with all the programs you’ll be authorized to teach as an Open Water Scuba Instructor. You will learn the latest teaching techniques, use the complete system of PADI support materials and be given positive assessment of your improving instructional skills throughout the IDC.

   During the IDC, you will learn to use and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs & the local environment. You will be given additional teaching presentations to refine your skills, which will better prepare you for the IE and after in your new career.

   Comprehensive training, supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials, earns PADI Instructors respect from both students and peers. This means you will be entering into one of the most respected professions in the diving community. PADI Instructors are the most sought after in the recreational diving market. You are going to be opening doors and working in places most people only dream about.
