Program
The
Emergency First Response and Care for Children Instructor Course is
an essential tool to the PADI Instructor. This
course will allow you to independently teach and
certify Rescue Divers and is a prerequisite for PADI
continuing education Instructor levels. This relaxed and low stress
program runs over 2 days following the IDC. PADI
Divemasters and Assistant Instructors can also take
the EFR Instructor course, increasing your
employment opportunities.
This course teaches you how to organize,
conduct, market and promote the Emergency First
Response Primary, Secondary and Care for Children
courses - and focuses on hands-on application of
skills with through instructor led demonstrations
and guided practice. This is a low stress program
with hands on practice. It includes knowledge of:

Emergency Oxygen for diving emergencies

Automated external defibrillators

Hyperbaric Chamber Orientation
This is one of the especially strong courses we
offer at the BICD. We are the emergency response
team for all diving accidents on Utila. We work
closely with
Dr John P. McVay - the islands certified
Hyperbaric Medical Doctor since we have the islands
only recompression chamber in the center, we are the
Chamber Operators and Tenders and also teach courses
in Hyperbarics.
