With the PADI Drift Diver course we here at BICD will show you the easiest way to explore untouched reefs, with huge energy saving and much lowered air consumption. This means much more time to explore and stay in the wonderful underwater world.
This two dive course shows you how to enjoy rivers and strong ocean currents by “going with the flow,” staying with your dive partner, communicating with the dive boat, and knowing where you are the whole time.
Drift Diving is nearly effortless, since you simply glide along and enjoy the rush of flight underwater, while the current does all the work for you. These currents can range from a gentle glide to a full on exhilarating, adrenaline pumping force.
During this course you will learn:
• Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of drift diving
• An introduction to drift diving equipment -- floats, lines, reels
• Buoyancy-control, navigation and communication for drift diving
• Site selection and overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects
• Techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group
